Here I am, trying to catch up with the adventures. It is not easy to sit and write often enough. Anyway, here is a quick story of my time in Tayrona.
Tayrona is a national park sitting between the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, one of the biggest mountains in Colombia with eternal snow, and the Caribean sea. Tayrona is above all known for its awesome beaches and nature. They have over there one of the biggest variety of birds.

Some tree! |
In Tayrona, I have done a really nice walk with another French guy that I had met the day before. Rather than going straight to the beach we took the trail that took us through the indigenous village of Pueblito that they also call the small Cuidad Perdida in reference to one of the biggest remains of the indigenous culture there in the Sierra Nevada. It was really cool to walk through the terraces of this ancient village that once used to be a massive hub between the coast and the heights of the Sierra.

Houses in Pueblito |
After seeing monkeys, red squirels and even snakes (I hate them) we reached the beaches of the park. The guide wasn't lying, they are top class!

Tayrona Beach |
We spent the day there drinking beers on the beach and thinking wow, life is hard.

At night we got the chance of having a full moon so we could hang out on the beach with clear light. But no party at all, this is a preserved area and the police are not kidding with that. At around 11 at night a police man emerged from the bushes pointing us with his maglite. He searched our bags looking for booze or drugs. Luckily we didn't have any of that. Apparently that's a way for them to make quick money as they ask you to pay after threatening you to send you back home.
After this very pleasant stay in Tayrona I headed to the mountains near Santa Marta in order to escape the warmth of the coast.
